Airport Vocabulary in Spanish

To start, “the airport” in Spanish is el aeropuerto.

Here are some common words you’ll hear in airport situations:

el equipaje: luggage

el billete de avión: plane ticket

la maleta: suitcase

hacer el check‑in: to check in

el número de vuelo: flight number

el asiento: seat

la puerta de embarque: boarding gate

abordar: to board

llegadas: arrivals

salidas: departures

el pasaporte: passport

la azafata: flight attendant

el piloto: pilot

Here are some useful phrases you’ll hear (or need to use) at the airport:

¿Me permite su pasaporte? (May I have your passport)

¿Ventana o pasillo? (Window or aisle)

¿Dónde está la puerta de embarque? (Where is the boarding gate)

¿A qué hora empieza el embarque? (What time does boarding begin)

¿Dónde está el baño? (Where is the restroom)
