Spanish House Vocabulary

In Spanish, “house” is casa. Even if you live in an apartment, many people will still refer to it as casa.

Here are some essential words for the parts of a house:

la habitación = room

el dormitorio = bedroom

la pared = wall

la cocina = kitchen

la sala de estar = living room

el jardín = garden

las escaleras = stairs

el baño = bathroom

el patio = courtyard

el comedor = dining room

Adjectives to Describe Your House

Want to make your descriptions more complete? Use these common adjectives:

pequeña = small

espaciosa = spacious / roomy

cómoda = comfortable

acogedora = cozy

elegante = elegant

minimalista = minimalist

clásica = classic

moderna = modern

Household Items in Spanish

Now let’s look at some basic items you’ll find in almost any house:

el sofá = sofa

la cama = bed

el televisor = TV

la cocina / la estufa = stove

la silla = chair

la mesa = table

el refrigerador = fridge

👉 When talking about your belongings, use the verb tener (to have).

Example:
Tengo un televisor grande en el salón.
(I have a big TV in the living room.)

Amiga: Es un buen comienzo.Friend: It’s a good start.
Marco: Sí, pero no tengo un refrigerador. Este mes no hay cervezas heladas.Marco: Yes, but I don’t have a refrigerator. This month there are no cold beers.
