Chores in Spanish

Chores can be referred to as “quehaceres del hogar” or “tareas del hogar” in Spanish.

When your house is ‘sucia‘ (dirty) and not ‘limpia‘ (clean), it’s time to ‘limpiar‘ (to clean) and do some ‘quehaceres‘ (chores).

Common Household Chores

The chores mentioned in ¡Ayúdame! are the following:

  • Arreglar el cuarto – to tidy up your room (also “ordenar tu cuarto”)
  • Hacer la cama – to make the bed
  • Cortar el césped – to cut the grass
  • Limpiar el baño – to clean the bathroom
  • Dar de comer al perro – to feed the dog
  • Lavar los platos – to wash the dishes
  • Pasar la aspiradora – to vacuum
  • Poner la mesa – to set the table
  • Quitar el polvo – to dust
