¡Hola! I’m Marco, your Latino Spanish instructor and founder of Latin ELE.
I hold a BA in Translation and an MA in Applied Linguistics, and I’ve been helping students from around the world become confident Spanish speakers for years.
I’d love to help you boost your confidence and enjoy real conversations in Spanish.
When I’m not teaching, I love traveling, reading, watching movies, and playing the electric guitar. 🎸
Frequently Asked Questions
What level do I need to join?
We recommend an intermediate level, you should be able to understand most conversations, express your thoughts, and handle small mistakes confidently. The focus is on communication and fluency, not perfection.
Are these grammar lessons?
No. While grammar may come up naturally, La Guarida focuses on real conversation practice, just like in real life. You’ll speak, listen, and interact with a few grammar tips when needed.
Is La Guarida an organized class?
It’s a conversation club, not a traditional class.
You bring what you’ve learned in your regular lessons and use it to get better at real conversations.
But that doesn’t mean La Guarida is random.
Each session has a central topic, and the whole conversation revolves around it.
You get feedback during the session, plus extra learning material related to the topic we discuss.
So it’s not a replacement for your current lessons, it’s a complement to help you get more conversation practice.
Are the sessions online or in person?
All sessions are online via Zoom, no commuting required.
Are the sessions recorded?
No. The idea is that you can speak with total confidence. Some students feel anxious about having a conversation recorded while they’re learning a language.
Plus… what happens in La Guarida stays in La Guarida.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payments via PayPal.
Can I get a refund after signing up?
Because spots in La Guarida are very limited, once you reserve your seat, it’s no longer available for someone else who wanted to join.
For that reason, we have a strict no-refund policy.
We encourage you to sign up only if you’re sure you can attend. La Guarida is designed for committed learners who are ready to participate and grow.
What does Guarida mean?
In Spanish, guarida means many things. It can be an animal’s lair (a cozy little den) or a hideout for people with secret plans.
For us, La Guarida is both: a warm, welcoming corner of the internet where Spanish learners come together to chat, laugh, and share stories.
